This remote works based on the Radio Frequency technique,the rf remote and set top box communicates through wireless transmission,there is an audio socket to connect the headphones to the remote for listening purpose.The Remote works only on the High Definition(HD) Settopbox receivers and do not support the Standard Definition boxes(SD).
